It is one of the most popular bedtime stories from the Aesop Fables. And, I know, all of you know this story by heart. Yet, let me tell you this story quickly.
Once upon a time, there lived a hare and a tortoise in a forest. The hare was a super-fast runner and was very proud of his speed. He believed that nobody could beat him in the running race. He was very judgmental. He used to make fun of other animals who could not run fast.
On the other side was the tortoise. Humble, gentle, and aware of who he was and what he could do, but never felt ashamed of how he was. However, the tortoise was always the soft target for the hare.
One day, the hare challenged the tortoise to compete with him with the intent of defeating the tortoise and making fun of him. The tortoise decided to ignore the challenge first, but when the hare compelled, he agreed to the race. He did not pay heed to what others said. He was not discouraged by the extra confidence the hare showed.
Finally, the day arrived. Every animal in the forest gathered in the assigned spot. Everyone was excited because they were curious to know why the tortoise had agreed to the race.
As soon as the countdown began, the hare ran, while the tortoise started walking slowly. The hare knew that he would reach the finishing line in a short time. So, he stopped running and decided to take a break as there were only a few meters to the finish line. He sat down under a tree and slept off.
The tortoise, slowly, but with resilience, overcame all the hurdles that were in the way and reached the spot the hare was. He saw the sleeping hare but did not wait even though he felt tired. He knew he was close to the destination.
With a renewed sense of inspiration, he walked and reached the finishing line. All the animals started clapping and celebrating the tortoise’s win. And, this sound woke the hare up. He realized that he lost the whole race.

And, you all know what happened, right?
So, we were all taught that the moral of this story as
“Slow and steady wins the race.”
“Be humble and you will win.”
“Do not be overconfident.”
“Do not brag over your strengths.”
And so on.
But I feel the story has more to tell us. I feel the story tells us a beautiful way to manifest and attract what you desire.
The tortoise was focused on reaching the destination. He remained undeterred by the circumstances and words of others. He remained unaffected even when he knew that he was no match for the hare, in terms of the speed. Yet, he won. Why?
